Swatches

Hello everyone!

So excited to show you what I was up to this weekend.

This weekend I took the time to organize all of my Inks and stamp them on the swatches. I found these small tags at a paper store (they came in a pack of 25). After I stamped out all of my inks, I put them all through a ring and clipped them together. I love having all of my colours in one place with the ability to quickly look through all of them when I'm doing a project. It makes the project faster and easier when I know what supplies I have. I forgot how beautiful some colours were, and I even forgot that I had some of them.

When I was stamping out my Distress Inks, I would also take the Distress Markers and scribble by the stamped image with the brush tip and the plastic tip, that way I know what the colour looks like from the marker.

While I was stamping, I thought I would show you what some of the colours look like side by side.
Here are all of my browns put together.

Distress Ink: Vintage photo, Walnut Stain
Colorbox Chalk Ink: Chestnut brown
Stazon: Saddle Brown
Adirondack: Carmel
Hero Arts: Cup O' Joe
Stampin up: Close to Cocoa
Momento:  Rich Cocoa
Versafine: Vintage Sepia

And here are my Blacks:

Brilliance: Graphite Black
Distress Ink: Black Soot
Archival Ink: Jet Black
Stazon: Jet black
Colorbox Chalk Ink: Blackbird
Momento: Tuxedo Black
Versafine: Onyx Black

Thanks for stopping by!
I'll see you later

Dylusion Cards

So the other week I created a 'journal page' inspired by the techniques and videos that Shari Carroll did on the Simon Says Stamp blog using the Dylusion Spray Inks by Dyan Reaveley's. I finished the page with some stamping and white gel pen. I then cut it down to make 4 wonderful cards.

Here is a look at some of the cards I made. I used foam dots to pop up the saying that the background page. The stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp kit of the month.

You can't see it in the photo, but I used a glitter gel pen in Stardust to outline some of the hearts and circles on the cards.

I also used the Air Vent Die from Simon Says Stamp to add a bit of interest to one of my cards.

I love the pink!!
Thanks so much for stoping by.
See you again soon.

Dylusion's Sprays

Blog Post time again. Need to play a bit of catch up. I've recently gotten a new job so its been a bit of a change of schedule for me.

So.... today I'm going to show you a little project I've been working on. Sheri Carroll has been doing a Journal page on Simon Says Stamp Blog each month, So it gave me an idea to start my own (Still haven't figured out the binding with dental floss) . I have been having fun playing with some Dylsusion Sprays by Dyan Reaveley. It sure is inky and thank goodness it washes off with just a bit of soap and water!

The first image here is just playing with her Dylusion Sprays and Stencils. I also sprayed some stencils with water and after I dabbed the water away you got a really cool shadow effect. The colours I used for the background were Bubble Gum Pink, Crushed Grapes, and then I used Vibrant Turquoise for the hand written stencil.

I then used a heart stencil and Gesso to paint on the hearts. I zapped them with the heat gun. I noticed that I had to use a couple layers to get this look, as the Gesso kept turning pink.

I wanted some of the hearts to stand out a bit more, so I let them really dry before taking a small paint brush and outlining some of them and creating smaller ones around it.

I'm thinking that I will add some stamping and cut them down to a standard size card and then add some glitter and ribbon. Hopefully I'll post the final picture soon.

My Mother and I are going to Scrap Arts this Saturday to take a card class called K.I.S.S (Keep it simple.... stamp) I'm looking forward to it. Maybe I'll even post some pictures of our wonderful creations!!

ta-ta for now!
