Little Bro Graduates + Lawn Fawn Card

Hi Friends,

So it has been a very busy week.
My little brother finally commenced from High School this week, my mother arranged a surprise bus limo to take us down. She also surprised him with some people 'pick up's' along the way.

I didn't get very many photos, but I'll share a couple with you that I did get. The school changed the order the way students walk across the stage. They started with those who had the last name starting with the letter Z. Well... Louie was still in the middle. To keep myself amused I ended up highlighting everyone who crossed the stage. SO many graduates.

Here he is getting ready (third one from the stage)

Being that my brother is going to Capliano University for film I made him a graduation card using the new Lawn Fawn Blue Skies stamp set. I stuck some double sided Be Creative tape on some card stock and covered it with Glitter Ritz Microfine clear glitter. After I used my finger to varnish it in, I stamped the balloon and stars with Staz on Ink directly on to the glitter. I then used my Copics to colour them in. Once they were coloured I die cut the balloon and hand cut the stars.  I also Die cut some clouds from the leftover glitter paper.

I used a background stamp from Impression Obsession in Hero Arts Shadow Ink in the colour Soft Pool on a light blue note card. For the final touches, I curved the sentiment stamp on my acrylic block and stamped it around the balloon. I then adhered the balloon with pop dots to add some dimention. For the final, final touch I added a strip of black Washi tape it give it a more 'masculine' feel to it.

Here is a closer look at the glitter and copic colouring

I finally got some pictures with him after the graudation with the famil dinner! Isn't he cute wearing his Capillano t-shirt I got him?

Thanks for joining me today
xoxo

First Day of Summer + Fishy Birthday Cards

 Hello Friends!!

Happy first day of summer.

I'm not going to lie.... .it doesn't look like summer around here AT ALL. Sure we got a few nice days in June, but now it is cold, cold, COLD! I just got my winter tires taken off, and I'm not sure if I should have done that.

Things are slowly coming together for the wedding. The one thing I notice is how hard it is to make a final guest list. If I could have it my way I would invite everyone and anyone!  But..... money doesn't seem to have the same idea's as me.

I've started taking spin classes, and have been enjoying them immensely. I notice thought, that I hate it at the 15 minute mark where I can't breath anymore but then love the feeling I get after I finish conquering that "hill"!

I've somehow injured my ring finger. I couldn't tell if it was because I bruised it, broke it, or sprained it. So I had to make an emergency trip to the doctors this morning where he poked at it a bit and then sent me for x-rays. No phone call to let me know its broken, so that means no news is good news right? So now I'll just have my fingers taped together for awhile.

Anyways, enough blabbing. Today's card features some of Dyan Reaveley Stamps. The set that I used today is the "Under the Sea" stamp set. I used distress markers to colour in the fish and used my aqua brush to watercolour them.

For the Birthday Fishes, I used some pattern paper and letter stickers from a Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card Kit. I stamped the back with a Hero Arts Large Plaid Pattern background stamp and added some enamel dots to look like bubbles.

For the next two cards I used a strip of pattern paper from a month card kit from Simon Says Stamp, and the Apothecary Label and Stamp set from their STAMPtember collection. I then used a white gel pen to make the bubbles coming from the fish and crab white .

Aren't they kinda CUTE?!!

Thanks for joining me today! Have a great weekend, and may the weather finally warm up.

XOXO
Tina

Chrisopther's Graduation and Thank you Pinwheel's

Hello Friends!!!

How has everyone been over the last couple months?! I have been super super busy with coordinating triathlons, duathlons, 10K runs and my WEDDING!

Now that some things are settling down I get to finally have some time to put a blog posts up. Don't worry, during that time when I wasn't posting doesn't mean that I wasn’t playing. I have so much to share. So many new and wonderful products have come out.

So a little update....

My little brother is graduating this year *sniff* I couldn't be prouder of everything that he has accomplished. As we all well know, high school (or school in general) can be a real struggle. I'm proud of what he as achieved and that he's moving forward in life. He even got accepted in to Capilano University! Way to go bro~

If any of you know my mother, she loves, LOVES to throw surprise parties. I think it really should be her profession. So for my brothers graduation, what do you think she did?...You got it, she threw him a surprise party..

So at the chance of embarrassing my little brother, I'm going to post some pictures of his 'surprise' party (nice of me eh?)

Here is everyone who attended! Great looking group eh!?!

Here is the family (and my soon to be husband) .... actually this is a pretty good photo..

My soon to be husband, Rob

Christopher and the guys

JUST for embarrassment, his high school grad photo ;)

So shall we get to the thank you card?

So I got to play with a stamp set called pinwheels2stamp from Stamps for Life, and I think its the best stamp set ever!! You get to create your own pinwheels with different colours and patterns! Below are some of the pinwheels that I created! Pretty cool eh?! I used Hero Arts shadow inks, I just love how smooth it becomes after you stamp it.

I used some foam squares to prop up the pinwheel after I cut it out. I punched a heart our and used Enamel Dots from my minds eye for the centre's of them.

I could make these all day! That's all I have for now for the update!! :) I promise for the next post to tell you more stuff about the wedding :)
