Generation Stamping

Hello everyone!!

Sorry I didn't get around to posting last week. It was extremely busy. I had two concerts to go to.

1. Sarah Slean, who is an amazing singer/songwriter. I absolutely love her music. I even got to meet her after the concert! She is the most adorable person I have ever met. Here is a picture I managed to get with her.

and 2. Alicia Keys, who just killed it on the stage. She is an amazing performer. She played piano for most of her songs and just wowed everyone. Of course she played everyones favourite song "Girl on Fire". Can't get enough of it.

If you ever have the chance to see either of these artists performers, DO IT!

And to top off these amazing nights I ended up dog-gone sick with a nasty cold that still seems to be lingering and wont go away.

So the card that I am sharing with you today features Martha Stewart's Hydrangea punch, Impression Obsession - Cover a Card stamps and Tim Holtz distress stain.

I first punched out a bunch of hydrangeas from some some nice pink paper, glued two of them together and places a nice pearl in the middle.

After that I took the Distress Stains and dabbed them all over my background stamp, making sure that the colours didn't touch so that the inks wouldn't get contaminated. The colours I used where - Salty Oceans, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers. I used my finger to blend the two colours together where they would meet.

I stamped it on some watercolour paper that I picked up from Micheal's. This paper has a vellum finish on it, so its a nice smooth paper. Its quite nice, I'm trying to find a watercolour paper that I really like.

After stamping it the first time, I decided to do generation stamping because the colours were so beautiful. I spritzed it with some water to get the ink wet again and then stamped it a second time. You can tell a difference of which one was stamped first (with the darker vibrant colours) and the second generation (nice light colours) I loved them both so much!

I trimmed the card stock down and adhered it the card front with some of the hydrangeas that I punched out and a sentiment from Hero Arts.

Here is another look at how soft and beautiful the colours are.

Beautiful eh!? Thanks for stopping by!
